Over 44 million Americans, 13 million of which are children, face food insecurity due to rising costs and limited access to nutritious food. This summer, Mercy Chefs is partnering with professional athletes at their camps to raise awareness and distribute nearly 7,000 backpacks—each filled with the equivalent of 10 meals—to children in underserved communities. We have reached families in Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Dallas, with more locations to come. Additionally, our community kitchens are serving over 108,000 hot meals to children at camps and programs like Barefoot Republic Day Camp. 

Altogether, our outreaches this summer will provide approximately 180,000 meals to children nationwide. We are witnessing amazing transformations in kids’ lives through these outreaches. For updates, follow us on social media (@MercyChefs).
