What We Do

Mercy Chefs originated as a disaster relief organization, and this remains our primary focus.

Outside of natural disasters and national emergencies, we recognize a responsibility to utilize our equipment, resources, skills and volunteers to the meet the needs of others. Consequently, When we aren’t responding to a crisis situation, our team is busy working on our other service initiatives.

Community

We provide nutritionally rich meals in low income communities and among homeless populations within the United States. We host summer feeding programs, bi-weekly meal services, events designed to unify at-risk communities, holiday meals and our annual 17 Days of Christmas event.

We work diligently to help create a measure of stability within the populations, who do not know from where their next meal will come.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘ You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Disaster Relief

We provide professionally prepared, restaurant quality meals for victims, volunteers and first responders in national emergencies and natural disasters. Our team is experienced in bringing relief following hurricanes, flooding, tornadoes, earthquakes, wildfires and national emergencies.

Our mobile kitchens are self-sustaining, able to run in areas without power and capable of purifying their own water. This enable our team to bring relief even in the most inopportune of circumstances.

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
