Houston Derecho Response

A derecho swept through Houston, TX, on Thursday, May 16, causing widespread devastation. Winds reached 100 mph, and up to six inches of rain fell. More than one million people were affected, and Mayor John Whitmire has confirmed at least four fatalities. Power lines have been toppled, and officials estimate it could take weeks for full restoration.

Mercy Chefs has been serving 10,000 hot meals to those impacted by the storms daily. Our team is working at multiple distribution sites with local churches, school districts, apartment complexes, and senior care facilities. We invite you to join us in prayer for the people of Houston as they recover. To stay up-to-date on our disaster response and how you can help, follow us on social media (@MercyChefs).
