A Simple Rice Dish (it’s like an easy risotto)
Ingredients
- 1 can of cream of chicken soup
- 1 ½ cups of chicken broth or water
- 1 ½ cups of uncooked instant white rice
- ¼ cup of grated cheese (if you have it)
- A dash of black pepper
Instructions
Step 1:
Heat the soup and broth in a saucepan over medium high heat to a boil.
Step 2:
Stir the rice, cheese, and pepper into the saucepan. Cover the pan and remove from heat.
Step 3:
Let stand for 6 to 8 minutes, until rice is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed.
To make this a complete dish: add cooked vegetables – peas, green beans, tomatoes, or mixed vegetables – along with canned chicken or tuna (drained).
