Chef Gary Discusses Beacon of Hope Plans in Asheville with John Boy and Billy Radio Show

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Chef Gary LeBlanc appeared on the John Boy and Billy Radio Show on Thursday, November 7th to discuss our ongoing relief efforts in Western North Carolina.

Our team has served thousands of meals to those in need, but we know long term help is needed.

Mercy Chefs is currently looking for a location to open a “Beacon of Hope” in Western North Carolina.

The organization opened a “Beacon of Hope” in Panama City following Hurricane Michael. The kitchen was in an older school building that was about to be torn down. Instead, we renovated it and used it to serve meals for nearly two and a half years.

Listen to the interview to learn more about what this concept looks like, and how we are already employing some Asheville Chefs who are out of work on our site.
