TAMPA, FL – Following back-to-back hurricanes in Florida, students at Sligh Middle School in Tampa, FL, were welcomed back to class with a joyful celebration.
Mercy Chefs partnered with WWE Superstar and philanthropist Thaddeus Bullard—also known as Titus O’Neil—to serve hot breakfast to students, faculty, and staff as they returned to school with power restored and spirits lifted.
Sligh Middle School is home to the Thaddeus Bullard Academy, named in honor of Bullard’s ongoing investment in youth and education. The global entertainer, former athlete, and author of There’s No Such Thing As a Bad Kid joined Mercy Chefs in encouraging students to keep pushing forward, no matter the storm.
Chef Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs Founder and CEO, was also honored with a generous financial gift for the organization’s recent efforts in Florida live on Good Morning America during their “Florida Strong” segment.
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Mercy Chefs has provided thousands of hot meals across Florida. This event reflected the organization’s broader mission, supporting neighbors not just in times of crisis, but also in moments of hope and celebration.
