In rural Honduras, many families face deep food insecurity made worse by frequent storms and poverty. Our kitchen in Comayagua, dedicated in 2024, anchors programs that now reach seven unique feeding locations where meals are scarce. For $3,000, your gift sustains this work for a month, ensuring vulnerable families receive nourishing food and care.
We recently met Jose, an 86-year-old widower living alone. To survive, he spends his days collecting plastic bottles from the streets to sell for a few coins. Even with this effort, there are many weeks when it is not enough to provide for himself.
Jose shared with us, “Some weeks, it is not enough. There are days when I have nothing to eat. Receiving this bag of food from Mercy Chefs is truly a blessing from heaven for my life.”
In Honduras, stories like Jose’s are heartbreakingly common. Widespread poverty and limited access to work leave many elderly, widowed, and vulnerable families without reliable meals. Hunger drives people to desperation.
That is why Mercy Chefs Global is committed to providing food in some of the toughest places. A simple bag of groceries means survival for today and hope for tomorrow.
Your gift places hope in the form of a meal in the hands of those who need it most.
