Wildfire Relief Updates
The Aspen Acres Fire rapidly grew into one of the largest wildfires in Colorado’s history, consuming more than 100,000 acres, burning over 800 structures, and displacing thousands of families. Mercy Chefs deployed a team to Pueblo, Colorado, to provide hot, chef-prepared meals to evacuees alongside local partners who called us for help.

Meals That Bring Hope During the Wait
For families affected by the Aspen Acres Fire, the hardest part is waiting. Many are watching from a distance, wondering if their homes are still standing and hoping to return. Others have lost everything and are waiting to discover what’s next.
In the middle of so much uncertainty, Mercy Chefs continues to feed evacuees and first responders in Pueblo County. CoFounder and President Ann LeBlanc shares an update from the ground.

Finding Rest with a Meal
Thanks to your generosity, hot, chef-prepared meals are bringing comfort to families displaced by the Aspen Acres Fire, including Michelle and Rick, who escaped with only a few belongings when they fled the flames. One of their two missing dogs returned with badly burned paws. By God’s grace, their home was one of only two left standing in their area. As they sat down, they were grateful they hadn’t missed our meal service and could finally catch their breath.
Meanwhile, many families are carrying the weight of uncertainty as more than 1,500 firefighters continue battling the fires. Your gift today will provide nutritious meals and rest to our neighbors in Colorado.

First Hot Meals in Pueblo
Following requests for assistance from local responders, Mercy Chefs is on the ground in Pueblo, delivering hot meals for evacuees and families displaced by the Aspen Acres Fire. Working alongside local volunteers, our team established a full kitchen and served our first hot meals to those affected today.
As the fire continues to threaten communities, with containment still limited and additional wildfires burning across Colorado, Mercy Chefs remains committed to expanding our response to meet the growing need. Will you join us in providing hot meals in the days ahead?
