Hurricane Beryl Response

Hurricane Beryl has made history as the largest hurricane to hit the Atlantic Ocean this early in the hurricane season. Violent winds struck the Windward Islands, causing what news outlets are calling “Armageddon-like” devastation across the Caribbean. Mercy Chefs Global has mobilized a team to Grenada, where the island’s electrical infrastructure, buildings, and agriculture have been wiped out. We are establishing operations at a kitchen on the island of Carriacou to provide vital groceries and hot meals to families in the Caribbean.

Beryl then made landfall in Texas, causing extensive damage and leaving over 2 million customers without power. Coupled with a heat index of 105 degrees, this has created a critical health situation. Mercy Chefs’ domestic disaster response team deployed to Houston to provide hot meals to families and children affected in partnership with Hope City Church, local shelters, and the public school system. Please join us in praying for those affected and bracing for Beryl. Follow us on social media (@MercyChefs) to stay up-to-date on our disaster response.
