Mercy Chefs has deployed to Acapulco in response to the Category 5 Hurricane Otis that rapidly intensified and debilitated the Pacific coast of Mexico. With the death toll nearing 50, widespread power outages, and limited water supply, this ferocious storm has caused a “nightmare scenario.” Hundreds of thousands of innocent people are now isolated and without basic resources.

But our brave local partners have quickly stood in the gap to bring relief to the families of Acapulco. Mercy Chefs immediately sent funds to begin the distribution of groceries and drinking water, and our team is now en route. In the coming week, we will begin serving thousands of hot, nutritious meals per day to hurricane victims, search and rescue teams, first responders, and volunteers.
