INGRAM, TX – Nearly 100 Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) employees, including CEO RC Buford, General Manager Brian Wright, and Head Coach Mitch Johnson, volunteered alongside Mercy Chefs in Texas Hill Country to support residents impacted by devastating floods in July.

The SS&E team partnered with Mercy Chefs to prepare and package hot, chef-prepared meals for victims, first responders, and volunteers across Kerr County. Spurs staff members joined the plating line, working side by side with Mercy Chefs volunteers to serve not just food, but encouragement and comfort to the community.
In addition to preparing meals, Buford, Wright, and Johnson visited with affected families and first responders, listening to their stories, offering words of support, and distributing gift cards for food and other essentials. The Spurs Coyote mascot also made a special appearance to lift spirits and bring smiles to volunteers and community members.

“We were honored to host San Antonio Spurs staff and leadership team members at our site in Texas Hill Country. Team leaders such as CEO RC Buford, GM Brian Wright, and head coach Mitch Johnson rolled up their sleeves and stood shoulder to shoulder on our plating line, serving meals to impacted families and first responders. That connection, that unity, reminded everyone that in moments of crisis, community can come from anywhere, and it all begins with a shared meal. We didn’t just serve food; we served hope and showed the people of Kerr County they aren’t forgotten,” said Chef Gary LeBlanc, founder and CEO of Mercy Chefs.
